Detroit Regional Relocation Council Gives Back to the Community

The Detroit Regional Relocation Council (DRRC) filled Santa’s sleigh with an abundance of gifts for the Detroit Children’s Home. With the generosity of our membership we loaded up the sleigh with toys, games, clothing, cash, etc and dashed off to the party. And what a party it was, the children ages 10 -17 painted sweatshirts with designs of Christmas, their favorite famous characters and of course many of them sported their name in very artistic ways. We celebrated by playing Christmas music, serving pizza, salad, cake and other fine favorites. Each child then had their photo taken with Santa as they told him what they wanted for their Christmas wish.

DRRC supports many Detroit Metropolitan Area charities especially those directed to helping the children of our future. The DRRC membership understands the challenges that families face during the transition of relocating. Families leaving their current location to relocate for their job need our professional assistance to overcome the frustration of transitioning to a new community. The DRRC is always there to help.

The Detroit Children’s Home is a temporary shelter for families who are experiencing economic or emotional difficulties. Sometimes it may take a family a few weeks to be ready to reunite with their children, others may take months. The DCH is there to be the open arms that guide the process of that transition.

Many thanks to the members of DRRC who participated in the Christmas Party on that snowy Saturday. We also thank all of our membership for their continued contributions to our local charities.
